Statement from Robert MacDonald, Chairman
Board of Trustees, Sedona Art Museum
The Sedona Art Museum joins the family, relatives and friends of Howard Madole in paying homage to him. This legendary Sedona architect died peacefully in Prescott on January 29, 2015. In the 1940-60s, Howard was a friend to Max Ernst, Dorothea Tanning, Jack Fry (President of TWA), Hamilton and Babs Warren (founders of Verde Valley School) and other early Sedona inhabitants, and built a large number of Sedona residences and commercial properties — many of which still exist as historic sites. One of his last architectural designs was for a proposed Sedona Art Museum.
